Rheview #12 Daylight (2015): we can't get everything, and that's reality

Hi!

More than a year passed since I haven't posted any rheviews. Well, I've been watching several movies, but my laziness comes as usual. But now, I hope I can regularly write more rheviews, as I want to practice my writing, since I work in an international research environment now, which uses English in meetings.

For this week, I managed to finish reading "Daylight" by Robin Wijaya, which I buy impulsively along with 5-6 other books in sale when I'm in Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia, Depok. I haven't read any of those books, until this week. Without further ado, so let's get started to do a 30 minutes rheview!

Rheview #11 Lion (2016): What is a true family?

Well hello~

This week, my homepage was full (I'm exaggerating) of childfree thing. They said it costs more than 3 billion rupiahs to raise A CHILD. Well, that's only for biological needs, and there are too many variables that affect the cost, for example, that's only for Jakarta people. In fact, raising a child also need soooo many stimulations and loves. And 3 billion rupiahs can't pay that (of course it can: you can enroll for PAUD (Early Childhood Education and Development/ECED) for those stimulations and hire a nanny to give them the loves they need).

ANYWAY, speaking of childfree, I remember one movie that also mentioned that thing. It's Lion (2016), an Indian movie that talks about a boy who separated from his biological family and raised by step-parents.

Rheview #10 Onward (2020): Never take your surroundings for granted

Good day!

I'd watched this a month ago, and postponed the rheview so I can discuss this first with my friend. BUT, she hasn't watched it until now. So, I thought the best next right thing is to rheview it now, alone, before my memory about this film starting to fade. Anyway, from now on, I'm going to focus more on discussions & moral stories about the movie, rather than synopsis. By doing so, I'm hoping this will render readers to comment and argue about my opinions. Hence, I'm asking people to watch the film first, and then we can discuss~

A short synopsis about this film: A brotherhood (Ian & Barley) is tested when two of them must group up to complete the magic spell in order to rise up his father who already long time dead.

As the title says onward, so let's ONWARD!

Rheview #9 Ralph Breaks the Internet (, literally) (2018): ... and his mental issue

 Welcome to the internet!

As a daily user in this internet of things era, we're not that unfamiliar with the internet itself. But, it's not Ralph's case. Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018) is a sequel from 6 years ago's movie, Wreck-it-Ralph (2012). I watched the prior nearly a year after the release date, and almost forget the main problem and solution of that movie, entirely. What left in my memory is that Vanellope befriended the big-destroyer Ralph. Before I forget the sequel, let's jump into the main discussion!

Rheview #8 Soul (2020): Between passion and purpose

Hello, welcome back. Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it, so I want to give you my never-ending gratitude and love 💜.

Since the length of the last rheview was really short, I need to compensate for it in here. Well, I acknowledge that reviewing "short movie" doesn't mean it has to be "short" as well. In fact, I got many distractions while I wrote the review. Moreover, I didn't make any bullet points while watching the movie that can keep my arguments clear.

And now, here we go, I hope I don't mess up the following rheview. If you have any comments about my review, ask me to discuss it in English, please 👽. Alright, let's get started!~💨

Rheview #7 Positif (2020): Another COVID-related short movie

 Another short movie rheview

Hello, and thanks for stopping by~ Today I'd watched Positif since it's been on my YouTube's suggestion for several days and I can't hold back anymore to not watch this, and surprisingly, it's pretty decent! Okay let's get things started!

Positif (2020) is another Indonesian short movie that entertains and educates people at the same time. Well, most of the scenes are entertaining, tho. Compared to another COVID-related short movie that I'd reviewed (Sepuluh meter), this really highlights the entertainment.
